I do appreciate all the messages of concern about my welfare during the
recent Hurricane Harvey. The night before the storm hit, it was headed
directly for San Antonio and the forecast was for torrential rain and
damaging winds. I had taken all the precautions I usually do and went
to bed, expecting the worst in the morning.
San Antonio _dodged the bullet_, so to speak, and when it was over the
rain gauge in my backyard registered a little over two inches. It took
me less than ten minutes to pick up the small branches scattered in my
yard. The biggest pain was a shortage of gasoline -- block long lines
everywhere -- but then again, I had filled up the day before the storm
hit.
Again, thanks for the messages of concern most of which I answered off
list.
All best from hot, dry South Texas,
