Style B Wurlitzer Harp
By Craig Smith

Hi Folks, I have an interesting opportunity for the right person.
The Style B Wurlitzer harp is one of the most attractive and desirable
mechanical music machines ever made. Unfortunately, only about seven
Style B Wurlitzer Harps are known to still exist.

The latest restoration of one of these beautiful instruments was done
by Roberts Restoration for Mike Lund and is featured on the cover of
the March/April 2014 issue of the MBSI journal, 'Mechanical Music'.

Of course, the heart of the Wurlitzer Harp is the sound board, which
includes the pin block, the sound box, the strings and associated
woodwork. By a fortunate turn of events, I have acquired these parts
of the 8th known Style B Harp. I also have the roll-frame and the
large, wooden drive pulley.

Since I have access to another harp, I have visions of making copies
of the missing parts (case, pneumatics, pluckers, etc) of one of these
rare machines. I also have a copy of the original parts diagrams so
I wouldn't be too difficult. But it would take quite a while -- and
there are about six other projects calling me (including three flute
organ clocks).

On the other hand, if I were to convert it to MIDI operation (instead
of the pneumatic / music roll system), I'd only need a set of pluckers,
some solenoids and a new and much smaller case. That's a lot less work
but I still have those six unfinished projects calling me.

So, after a lot of soul searching, I've decided to sell the parts and
let someone else put it on their project list. If you're interested,
drop me an e-mail or call me. I can send you a few pictures and we can
discuss it.

On the other hand, if someone has a Style B front door or a set of harp
pluckers available, I might just change my mind about selling.

Regards,
Craig Smith
