Canobie Lake Carousel & Wurlitzer 153 Band Organ
By Andrew Lardieri

The 1890 Dentzel-mix two platform carousel at Canobie Lake Park
in Salem, New Hampshire, just recently had a few standers repainted
as well as some brand new figures obtained which include a Dentzel
lion, Dentzel tiger, a metallic Parker and Herschell jumpers, and
a Spillman inner row jumper.

The Wurlitzer 153 which has provided music for the carousel
throughout the years is currently undergoing restoration which really
I do not think is necessary at the moment since I have seen the organ
in extensive YouTube videos playing in modest condition. The restored
band organ will now have swell shutters and Dynamic Recording's
"Carousel Memories" of the Verbeeck 165 at Seabreeze will be used
until the organ's percussion is fixed.
