1. I will be storing a few thousand piano rolls for a year, maybe two.
I'm considering a storage container (CONEX) with shielded, forced
ventilation. The rolls would be boxed with desiccant, about 24 rolls
per box. Summertime temperatures can reach 110 deg. F., winter temps
reach the low thirties. Ventilation would be activated at temperatures
above 90 deg. F.
2. Vertical or horizontal -- is there a preferred orientation of the
rolls? For reasons of saving space I'd prefer vertical.
Any and all comments will be appreciated.

[ I pack piano rolls on end (vertically), otherwise the flanges are
[ likely to punch through the bottom of the aging two-piece roll box.
[ 35 small rolls on end will fit in a 1.5 cubic foot "small moving box"
[ of corrugated fiberboard, 16-3/8" x 12-5/8" x 12-5/8" (width x length
[ x height). Put one or two sheets of fiberboard at the top inside so
[ that cartons can be stacked high without crushing. More information
