Lead Tubing in Player Pianos
By D. L. Bullock

Lead is not quite as easy to get into your body as some other things.
Eating antique paint off the house as so many children are said to be
doing is not the main cause of lead poisoning. Removing a set of lead
tubes off a tracker bar once in a while is also not a major cause.
Eating off of poorly glazed dishes or eating processed foods that
contain it or even fresh foods that were grown in soil contaminated
with lead is a leading source of lead poisoning.

It was not that long ago that lead was in the gasoline of every car on
the road. People who lived within 5 miles of a major highway were
extremely likely to have plenty of lead particulate sprinkling down on
their lawns and gardens for many decades. That lead is still there.
Kids played in that soil and if they were suffering a mineral
deficiency called "pica" they were eating mud pies from lead tainted
soil and that was in large part how kids got lead.

I keep hearing this still going on especially in the doe run area of
Herculaneum, Missouri, which is so badly contaminated near St. Louis
area where I am. I hear people fretting and worrying about the lead
in the body destroying lives and it does. However no one seems to know
how to cleanse the lead out and doing that is very simple. I regularly
use a colostrum, beta glucans product for immune support that also has
been shown to cleanse heavy metals out of the system. The readings
I saw were children who were measuring way off the scale in lead,
mercury and arsenic contamination who were down to unmeasurable within
3 months of starting this nutritional method of cleansing. If they
stay away from mud pies these kids would never be bothered by lead
again.

While I do not believe player piano rebuilders are in danger of lead
poisoning unless we eat the lead tubing; being poisoned is not the
tragedy the mainstream media tell us it is. Would you believe I have
known doctors who think lead contamination is permanent? At least
without some very expensive long term chelation therapy, of course.

Treat lead with respect and limit your time in contact with it. Do not
melt it down without breathing protection but unless you are installing
dozens of tracker bars with lead each day at a player piano factory,
don't worry too much about lead poisoning. And if you are worried,
there is always colostrum to help cleanse it all out in a short period
of time. Colostrum is the first milk that mammal mommies make
immediately after birth. It is almost exactly the same chemically
whatever mammal mother it is. Most commercial colostrum is from cows
who just gave birth. The calf must have some or it will die, as it
activates the immune system, but cows make so much extra you are not
taking anything from her baby by harvesting it for human use.
