Robbie remarked regarding the Auto-Namic [170611 MMDigest]:
[ Found in "Music Trades", Volume 62, Dec. 11, 1921, page 11:
[ "The Auto-Namic, the company claims, governs and changes air
[ tension with one pneumatic and has but one moving part, has no
[ change of spring tension, and is installable in any player piano."
It almost sounds like the Auto-Namic is nothing more than a glorified
governor pneumatic in a player piano. It also sounds like it would
be very easy to make one from the right kind of an unused pneumatic.
I don't see what would keep one (especially me) from making one for
myself. I still have pneumatic cloth and some pneumatics from the
older player system that was with my piano at first. If anyone wants
to give advice or additional photos of the Auto-Namic itself, please
do. Rest assured that my version will only be used in my piano.
