Hello MMD'ers, I was browsing YouTube and found something I thought
was rather interesting. It's an audio recording of an "old" (as the
recording's info states) piano roll. It is of Scott Joplin's 'A Real
Slow Drag,' which is the final number in his opera, 'Treemonisha.'
I have never heard of any rolls being made of this piece, and if it is
stated to be Joplin himself playing, then I find it quite noteworthy.
Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZdbmeBB3yA
The recording is of poor quality, but that's not the point. Enjoy!

[ I doubt the piano roll was played by Joplin himself. Historian
[ 'Perfessor' Bill Edwards writes about Scott Joplin's piano rolls:
[
[ "In early 1916 he did manage at least two different sessions where
[ he recorded a handful of piano rolls. The list included Maple Leaf
[ Rag in two different renditions, Something Doing, Magnetic Rag,
[ his final waltz Pleasant Moments, and, curiously, W.C. Handy's Ole
[ Miss Rag." Ref. http://www.perfessorbill.com/comps/sjoplin.shtml
