About the unknown wall-mounted music box, I am no expert but
I did study interior design in college.  My guess is that the music
box case was likely made by an individual who liked working with wood,
but had no knowledge of antique music boxes or period furniture styles.
He likely had the opportunity to acquire the music box, maybe applied
some oil here and there, and then just went about making a case that
fit -- period!
