Replacement Piano Hammers
By Don Teach

The current "hot to buy" piano hammers, according to the piano tech
forums, are Ronsen hammers. Little if any voicing is required and
they have the Old Time sound.

I also like the Abel hammers and use them. One major word to the
wise is that each piano supply house gets different hammers from Abel.
One place in Chicago that is long established cannot [correctly] bore
hammers and have the worst hammers. I have had to redo two pianos
because of the poor boring done by them as well as the hammers were
crap.

Brooks Piano Supply or PianoTek or Ronsen are my only three "go to"
suppliers.
