In the discussion of tuning the Wurlitzer 105 pipes, Jim Quashnock
stated, "These instruments are solo instruments not meant to be
played with other instruments. So just like the bagpipe I play,
exact pitch isn't as important as the instrument being in tune to
itself."
Hmmm. Jim, isn't using "bagpipes" and "in tune" in one sentence an
oxymoron? <smile>
(Bagpipers get no respect! Someone asked me, "Why do bagpipers march
while they play?" I responded, "First, they're trying to get away from
that noise! Secondly, it's harder to hit a moving target!")
