Steinkjerpositive, a Norwegian Barrel Organ
By Harald Sakshaug

The Steinkjerpositive (barrel crank organ) was produced in relative
large numbers from 1850 and onwards in the town Steinkjer in central
Norway. A total of 600 instruments were built by 3 or 4 instrument
builders from 1850 and onwards.

The instruments are in many ways built like German and English crank
organs of the time, but the music on the barrels are locally composed
music from the central region of Norway at the time. Please read more
about these rather unusual instruments on this page:

The best,
Harald Sakshaug
Steinkjer, Norway
