I have tried a product sold by Eastwood for reviving rubber and vinyl
in car interiors. I had success when used on pneumatics which had
become stiff, but otherwise were in great shape.
A potential problem: I came to learn later that this product may
contain silicones. Silicone is used as a rubber plasticizer (to make
rubber more soft and flexible) and silicone is known to move a lot
and "creep." When silicone gets into wood it can impede the ability
of an adhesive to adhere (should the pneumatics need recovering in the
future.) Silicone is extremely difficult to remove. When any air
motor these products were used on comes to need recovering, in the
future it would probably be best to "toss" the original pneumatics
and make new ones.
