Bernt Damm pointed out a very real problem museums have: funding.
He wisely talked about "burdening" a museum with a donated collection.
There is another way around this, though it requires one to have a
large estate, and I have seen it done once.
You donate the collection along with a _large_ endowment that the
museum uses to catalog, persevere and display the collection (might
even include building a display building). To do all this does require
a _large_ endowment, though, probably something of $1 million or more.
Just a suggestion; probably far out of the reach of most all of us!
