Musical Chair Repair
By Nancy Fratti

With regard to the musical chair movement that a lady wanted repaired
[170201 MMDigest], it is 'called' a Musical Chair! The seat is slightly
elevated and there is a spring mechanism that trips the music box to
play when someone puts pressure (sits) on the seat of the chair.

There is no telling what might be wrong with the movement, but if it's
not wound you'll never know if it works! Tell the lady to gently wind
it; if she feels a resistance, to stop. Then she should see if sitting
on the chair (or putting pressure on the seat) starts the movement.
If not, it might just need oiling of the governor gears. If that
doesn't make it work, then she needs to seek professional (music box)
help.

Enjoy!

[ Remember the kids' parlor game, "Musical Chairs?" While the music
[ played the kids walked around the the circle of chairs. They all
[ scrambled for a seat when the _musical chair_ stopped playing!
