Hi all, some time ago I bought an American Piano Company Stoddard
Ampico. The curious thing is the inscription "Welte", which I think
is original, located near the tracker bar.
I have already asked the very kind John A. Tuttle and the expert in
Welte, Mr. Hans Schmitz, but even they do not have an answer. Any
idea is appreciated. Thanks.

[ Note the familiar 88-note spool box and hand controls at the front
[ of the keyboard. It seems that the Chickering piano was initially
[ fitted with an ordinary 88-note player system, and then Ampico
[ expression units, plus a Welte(?) pump and reserve, were installed.
[ Whew -- that's an impressive hybrid! ;-) -- Robbie
