Luke, Welcome to the school of "hard knocks", or "experience",
as it can be called. You have learned to never trust a previous
rebuild!
I'm working on a Wurlitzer two-level stack that the rebuilder did
a _few_ things that make me think he or she was attempting to do
a good job (like zephyr skin pouches) but is has some strange red
material for valve faces and then a silver silicone roof caulk to
put it all back together. Aaaugh! I think I'm finally on the
"downhill" side of this rebuild.
The idea of making _any_ profit is long gone; it is now just
a challenge to be met. I feel like an "action-tamer" with my head
in the mouth of the wild beast. I have pictures, and someday it may
make for an interesting article. I think your experience might make
one, too. Authors are hard to find, so you might consider it!
Play 'em if ya got 'em -- and if you don't, check out the "F/S on
the Internet" lists; there's some real gems hidden in there!
