Restoring Ampico Black Keytops
By Skip Downing

If the dearth of responses is any indication, I'm guessing nobody else
has had to deal with celluloid covered sharps lately. I was pleased to
have an epiphany today as I remembered what my teacher, Herb Benedict,
used to do for dull sharps of this vintage. A careful polishing with
4/0 steel wool brought them back to a nice matte finish.
