I, too, would like to know where they come up with these prices for
old piano rolls. Some sellers say the roll is no longer made, some say
it is a collectors item; how do they know? Does someone have listing
of rare piano rolls? If so, where can I get it.
I can see where the reproducing rolls cost more but the old 88-note
regular rolls, which sellers want a mint for, are so brittle most time
that they will tear up when you try to re-roll them. Also, it don't
appear that these sellers look at the going price of sold rolls, for
their old rolls when they put them on eBay.
