FS: Wurlitzer Player Organ & Roll Collection
By Darleen Stewart

For Sale: Replica Wurlitzer R Music Roll Player (modified to play
2/6 organ) plus 262 re-cut Style R music rolls plus older R rolls,
altogether about 300 rolls. Also for sale is a Wurlitzer Opus 750,
Style D, 2-manual, 6-rank theater pipe organ.

My home in Pomona, California, with installed organ and roll player,
is in the process of being sold. The rolls and roll player and pipe
organ need to be moved from the present location to a new home by
mid-February 2017 or sooner.

The roll player is a replica Wurlitzer R player unit, which Preston
"Sandy" Fleet had specially made for organ by Fred Beeks. The roll
player translates Style R music rolls, which normally play a 3-manual
organ, to play the 2-manual 6-rank Style D organ. The player unit
needs new valve pouches to play again.

The rolls consist of (1) a set of 262 recut Wurlitzer Style R music
rolls, one of 12 nearly complete sets produced by Fred Beeks that
were re-cut from the collection of original rolls at Scotty's Castle
in Death Valley, plus (2) also included are approximately 30 older
original paper rolls with pin end spools and housed in round tins.

Asking price: $6000 for roll player and Style R rolls. Buyer will
need to pay for removal, transportation, and repair of roll player,
plus pay for transportation of the rolls.

The Opus 750 theater pipe organ was installed in the Pomona, Calif.,
home in 1983 after being completely updated by Shoberg Organ, San
Diego. Its original installation was in the Strand Theater in
Delaware, Ohio, in 1922. Other past installations of this pipe
organ include the Organ Power Pizza in San Diego area, then the
home of Preston "Sandy" Fleet in Bonsal, Calif.

The organ has excellent sound quality and plays well. It is powered
by its original theater blower and operates on its original relay
and has a complete toy box. If needed in new location, the shades
will be included. Photos available.

Asking price: $15,000; will consider possible donation to a non-profit
organization. Even if the organ is donated, buyer must cover costs to
professionally remove from home, plus transportation. Contact:
