For Sale on the Internet Items

Quite a few free ones, a number of 1970s-80s spinets, too, and some
piano rolls -- one deal on some Welte rolls!

Detroit suburbs, Mount Lyon. MI. $375 player piano, spinet Pianola.
Typical 1970s spinet with standard action, plays, includes 100 rolls,
appear to mostly be red box QRS. Walnut finish with some nice leaf
overlays, includes bench.

Lot of 6 piano rolls, Euclid, OH. $30 for this lot. The ad states,
"We picked up a large lot of used player piano rolls," so maybe you
can do a deal, as this lot in my opinion isn't worth $30, although
one roll is a Vocalstyle with a neat leader.

Another free piano in Redford, IL. Linderman & Sons, photo shows
1920s plain case, looks untouched, with bench, free! Linderman
used four different player actions, most commonly Standard, but
also Amphion, Angelus, and Pratt-Read.

In Greenville, NC, free Kohler and Campbell spinet player piano,
looks like 1970s. Electric & pedal.

Liberty Township, OH, $500; Kimball upright, light finish, includes
200 rolls. Appears to still play. Kimballs are good pianos, but they
used a brass rail for the hammers and dampers which can need repair.
I've seen them both in fine shape and also seen them having metal
fatigue. I would check for loose hammers or dampers, the brass damper
plates are now made of unobtainium. (I have a Kimball in my shop right
now and I'm scrounging for the damper plates!)

In Mainville, OH, no price listed: Universal Player piano, must pick
up, built in the 1970s. The Universal player action was a good design
but used Perflex pouches, most of them are shot today and need to be
replaced. It's tricky as the stack is aluminum and the pouches are
held in with plastic rings. I know one shop that does this for around
$1,500 plus shipping. No pictures, but usually have interesting cases.

Welte owners -- here's a deal; wish I lived closer! Virginia Beach,
VA, $100. Over 100 rolls, some are Welte, some are QRS; not enough
pictures to tell what percentage of each.

Yorktown, VA, $295: 1972 Kimball spinet, one owner, downsizing.
Electric motor drive, so check that it's working before buying!
With "box of songs." http://norfolk.craigslist.org/msg/5803489038.html

Waukee, IA, $20. Beautiful quarter-sawn oak case, 1920s Norris & Hyde
upright, been in family 60 years, needs full rebuilding. The firm used
three action types; it's most likely a Simplex (one of my favorites),
includes Larry Given's book!

Burlington, IA, $500 or best offer: Baldwin Manulo upright (1920s) with
bench. Looks untouched, I think it's bookmatch burl walnut, though!

It looks like some interesting finds this time, especially if you want
a player for a small house!
