If one wants a modern computer with a parallel port (so you can drive
"old hardware), and if you are willing to assemble the PC (these days,
just a motherboard, case w power supply, bit of memory and a cheap hard
disk), search for "Mini ITX" motherboards, and you will find some
(current production) that still have a parallel port.
A bit of careful shopping and you should be able to assemble one for
about $200.
