Seek Buyer or Tuner for Spanish Barrel Piano
By John Grant
Several days ago I sent MMD an eBay link for a large barrel piano for
sale in Fort Washington, Maryland:
Large barrel (street) piano by José Lopez, Madrid, plays 10 tunes
http://www.ebay.com/itm/222267960181
It turns out the piano may or may not actually be for sale, but in any
event, the owner needs to find someone in the Baltimore-Washington area
to tune it. His thinking is that if it sounded better he might get a
bid closer to his asking price ($4000) or his wife might relent and let
him keep it.
I don't tune and apparently none of my tuner-technician friends in the
area feel adventurous enough try it. I suggested he peruse the PTG
website for tuners servicing his zipcode, but he's somewhat intimidated
by that process. If anyone can provide me better advice, let me know
and I will pass it along to him. Thanks.

[ hear the sound of a typical street piano -- not perfectly tuned,
