"Taj Mahal" 101-key Mortier Dance Hall Organ
By Tom Detweiler

Hello, Robbie and Jody. I was a subscriber on the MMD, perhaps 20
years ago. I came across a clipping of an old dance organ, the Taj
Mahal, in my past stuff. I saw and heard the organ live back in
1971-73 time period when my first wife and I went to see it. I don't
remember exactly where but it was in the San Bernardino mountains.

We had a 27" Regina Orchestral Corona 34 and needed some parts and
disks, and we bought both to help us work on getting it going. Anyway,
the Taj Mahal was sitting there, newly restored, and the owners played
it for us. It was a thrilling experience and of course neither of us
young 'uns had heard anything like it!

So, here I am again and I will try MMD again. Nice to be back.

[ Welcome back, Tom. Maybe you saw the Taj Mahal when it was at
[ the show room in Santa Fe Springs, California. Some photos are at
