Hallo MMD, as the conversation in the Yahoo group about e-valves
has virtually ended some years ago, I post this here. Today I opened
an automatic blood pressure monitor device (BPM) in order to change
the battery. One of the components in there is a small magnet valve,
which serves to dump the pressure at the end of the measurement
procedure. I took a picture which I submit to the MMD.
Now for my question: Has somebody checked these components for use
in (MIDIfied) player pianos or organs?
As BPMs are a mass market device, like all tools that pertain to
health, the valves are mass produced, too. They should be found at
surplus outlets. They are designed for pressures up to 300 mm Hg.
I wonder how they behave with vacuum.
I checked for a manufacturer, but with no success. "Andon" apparently
is the manufacturer of BPMs (iHealth). At another source I found that
KSV05A3 and CJV10-A03A1 are compatible to VLDC3V-02.
