I had quite an interesting dream last night. I dreamed that I and
others in my family went to a big mansion. It was super-duper fancy.
In one certain room there were all kinds of roll-operated musical
instruments, some beyond description, like a subsonic player bassoon,
a humongous player tuba, and dozens of other automatic instruments,
far exceeding anything we know about in the world of nickelodeons and
player pianos.
There were at least four all-original Banjo Orchestras, and one
reproducing piano which was the only one of its kind made. If such
a mansion with such instruments actually existed, it would certainly
far outshine any collection known today.
Make no mistake, the collection in my dream was downright impressive.
Those instruments, had they been real-life examples, would have brought
an amount of money unheard of. They were the cream of the crop. Even
the best working automatic player, nickelodeon, or Violano-Virtuoso,
would have paled significantly compared to those in my dream.
