Wurlitzer Band Organ Pipe Scales by Doyle Lane
By Wallace Venable
I am not a Wurlitzer expert. I have seen notes that Wurlitzer pipes
for some specific band organ models (e.g., Wurlitzer 105) were tuned
a semi-tone (half a note) higher than the marking on the pipe itself.
Should this be a rule-of-thumb for all the Wurlitzer scales in the
Doyle Lane book? That is to say, the information is for "as marked,"
not "as tuned."

[ Dave Wasson once showed me a Wurlitzer pipe marked "D" on one side
[ and "F" on another which could be installed in a 157 or a 165 organ.
[ The explanation was that one of the letters on the pipe would agree
[ with the note on the tracker bar scale, which in a Wur 157 actually
[ plays three semi-tones sharp compared to the Wur 165 (concert pitch).
