How to Deter Siblings from a Non-Working Player
By Luke Myers

Hello everyone, First of all, how much will the cast iron plate of
a piano bring, if scrapped? I asked this question on another forum
on the Web, and I didn't get a single answer.

Second, I am wondering if there is any way to make _sure_ that my
two older siblings do not make the mistake of putting the label of
"priceless heirloom" on the Werner player I have and own. I have
discussed this piano at length with various MMDers, and they have
all given me the same message: "It's not worth it to try and fix it.
Get another one!"

However, my two siblings still think that (though they have never had
the heartache and headache of working with it) the piano is still worth
a lot. It will basically take an affidavit attesting to my frustration,
to make them realize that they probably should _not_ waste their
emotions on it. The piano itself has been over-used and would require
simply too much work. I cannot allow any more money to be spent on
that piano and I am _sick_ of it.

"Oh, well, sorry; we decided that Billy needed another piano to rip
to shreds." I believe that this same Billy had something to do with
the condition of my piano -- he must have played 100 rolls too many
on it!
