X-Y Cutting Machine To Make Music Rolls
By Bill Budenholzer

All this discussion about punching rolls got me to thinking about
other technologies that might be available. There are cutting machines
designed to cut vinyl for different applications; sometimes used for
signs, decoration, etc. These machines are similar to x-y plotters but
use a swivel cutting knife instead of a pen. These machines will cut
paper just as well as vinyl. They use standardized control languages,
connect via USB and are readily available.

The Roland GS-24 cuts material of different widths, from 2" to 27.5".
Has anyone considered using one of these to cut music rolls?
