Tempo of Tunes on Carrousel Music CDs
By Andrew Lardieri

I now have eight CDs total from Dr. Bill Black in Chambersburg,
Pennsylvania; three of his Wurlitzer Style 165 band organ and five of
his 153. It's a joy to listen to them on my computer, but I've noticed
a slight increase in tempo in some of the tunes. For example, the
tempo of track 11 on Volume 17 of the 153, which is "Her Name Was Rosita"
from roll 13257, is slightly faster than expected. There's is an
excerpt of this tune played at the correct pace in a YouTube video of
the carousel at Canobie Lake Park. Anyway, nonetheless they're still
great CDs and are very, very affordable.
