Hi MMD, The recent announcement on MMD of roll repair table
availability has resulted in several inquiries requesting photos
and information.
The overall dimensions of the table are 25 x 17 x 4 inches. The
tables are made of galvanized sheet metal and machined aluminum.
Visualize the repair table as a roll spool box laying on its
side. In use, the feed spool is on the right and the take-up spool
is on the left. Simply insert the roll to be repaired, and with
the cranks feed the paper across the surface of the table.
These tables will accommodate 58-, 65- and 88-note rolls. They will
not handle the larger 10-tune nickelodeon rolls or Wurlitzer style
rolls.
For shipping, the cranks have been reversed with handles turned to the
inside. Included is an Allen wrench and a detailed set of instructions
plus photos. Also included is a copy of the article, "Piano Roll
Repair", by Tom Hutchinson, as published in the Sept/Oct 2009 AMICA
Bulletin.
Hopefully I have addressed all of the questions that have been sent
by fellow MMDers. If you need further info ask and I will try to
incorporate it into revised versions.
I want to thank Robbie and Jody for their help in the piano roll repair
table endeavor.
