While scanning a box of miscellaneous rolls to add to IAMMP,
I encountered a label I'd not seen before (see accompanying image).
The roll itself was of a heavy stock, like maybe 40-pound paper, and
there were numerous pasted-on "edits" made to the roll, suggesting this
was a master roll.
There was no conventional label, and even the title, "Voce Perduta"
(Lost Voice), gets me no Google hits of the time period from which this
roll seems to come (roughly 90-100 years ago). The actual music (see
accompanying MIDI file) is unremarkably played, and I can't identify
it.
The MMD Archives allude to the brief existence of a Verdi Piano Co.
located in New York City around 1911, and this may be an artifact of
that fledgling business.
