Hi everyone, I am in need of a working double valve stack for my
player. I have lost count of the number of times that I have taken
the stack in and out of my piano, again and again, all to no avail.
It seems like every pneumatic has a little hole in the cloth, either
on one side or both. Inside valve seats, with a 1/16 estimated minimum
of flat surface, spell difficulty for the leather facing when it tries
to seal against the seat.
I should have considered getting a working Cable Euphona and saved
myself the trouble of giving myself a headache and only being
disappointed by my efforts, instead of being happy at them. It seems
as if I spent endless hours doing little to nothing to improve the
stack. I do not want this problem to harangue me very much longer.
If I ran a player repair shop, it would be no problem, but
unfortunately, I do not.
I know this seems like silliness and impatience, but I cannot keep
spending time repairing something that could have performed and been
designed better. The saddest part is that it appears that I got the
piano just in time for it not to work.
If anyone doubts that I can retrofit a different double valve stack my
piano, do not worry. I have quite a bit of experience in woodworking,
and could do the conversion very easily.
