I have high regard for Robbie, Jody, and Joyce; they have made the
MMDigest one of the most searchable and reliable sites for looking up
exactly what you want to find out about a certain kind of player piano,
music box, or other mechanical music device.
I have found the Digest invaluable for lots of what I have learned
about player pianos. I think it also very convenient that one does not
have to log in to send a message or article. Logging on to something
every single time, just to post, can be very aggravating. The Digest
does away with that.
Paul Kealy said in the last Digest, "Chat lists with narrowly defined
discussion topics have little respect from me, as it is not worth
chasing around "here-a-topic, there-a-topic" to determine what I want
and need to know and learn. Those lists do not draw me in."
I couldn't agree more, Paul! Perhaps one reason why I love the Digest
is because payment is completely optional, and other groups normally
have some "free trial" period, but with a bill at the end of that time.
I see no need for the MMDigest to change any format or to go through
any radical changes. It is a wonderful resource.
