Hello All, I am getting ready to tear apart a Hammond player piano
and I'm checking to see if anyone is interested in purchasing parts.
According to Player Piano Co.'s old catalog, there are four different
possible player units used in the Hammond. They are Standard,
Simplex, Pratt-Reed and Straube. As of this post I am not certain
which action it has.
The serial number is 24642. The plate says "The Straube Piano Co."
and of course "Hammond". The motor has a plate on it that states it
can be tilted forward for tuning. It does not have the Standard "S"
pedal mats.
There is no plate in the spool box. I think as of now, it being a
Standard action will not be the case. Anyone with a simple way of
identifying the action, please share. I have not begun the dismantling
yet, but will in a few days.
I also want to remind everyone that I still have rebuilding supplies
for sale, if anyone has a need for any. This is a good time to thank
all my past customers for their orders and to say thanks to MMD and the
ones that oversee it. It is a wonderful thing for mechanical music.
Thanks again,
Dorothy Taylor
