I belong to an organ group called "The Organ Forum" which uses a
thread type format that would work extremely well for MMD.  If you go
to the link http://www.organforum.com/forums/  you will see different
selections for different interests.  Anyone can look at the data but
only members with user names and passwords that they create can post.

When you log in it knows what you have already viewed.  To read any
new posts just click on the "New Posts" button and a page comes up with
all the subject lines that have new added information.

This forum is very active with more than 40 to 60 new posts each day.
Clicking on the subject line brings you to the new post you haven't
read yet.  When you are done reading that post just go back and select
a new subject that you want to read next.  When satisfied with your
reading just click "Mark All Read" button and exit your browser.

You can select a button to keep you logged in when you return to the
site, which makes it easy to return to the site to read anything new
without having to log in.  You can look for any new content every hour,
or day, or week, just go to the site.  And all the history on the
subject is shown along with the new content.  And you can specify
whether you want email sent to you for any thread level that has a new
post created.
