I have been following this thread, but it is Matthew Caulfield's
comments that prompted me to write. I agree with everything he said.
MMD has served well for me for many years. I am always happy to get
the latest post, and see what people are talking about.
Many times in the past I have found information, products and services
in the MMD Archives. When a Google search comes up with something in
the MMD Archives, I always ask, "Why didn't I think of MMD first?"
I belong to several Yahoo groups, but they aren't as user-friendly or
complete as MMD. Since people aren't faithful about using them, many
questions go unanswered. My wife belongs to several "mechanical music"
sub-groups on Facebook, but it seems to me more like a gossip site
than useful information. Going back and finding something you saw
just a few days ago is an adventure.
I also belonged to a couple of the other forums like iMOD, but found
I rarely bothered to go to them. Once again, as Matthew said,
"Fragmented." So my vote is to keep MMD the way it is. Jody and
Robbie, you are doing a good job!
