Hello MMD! I'm just dropping a line to tell that you can now hear
the first sounds of what may be the first-ever Swedish-built Herophon
organette, playing the first-ever Swedish-punched Herophon square
disc, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImcZOuU2NZs
Yes, it's a totally new instrument, though built from well-seasoned
wood from a derelict Nystroem Reform Organ. But the top frame
does look old, doesn't it? Yes, it is -- in fact, it was the only
salvageable wooden part of a poor old Herophon on which the woodworms
had been literally feasting.
The decorative locking plate is original too, as are all the metal
parts except the worm and gear which had to be replaced. As I had no
left hand worm I simply had to crank the instrument from the back (as
those of you having sharp eyes might see). In addition to this, I have
posted some snapshots of the instrument.
Greetings from Stockholm,
Christofer Noering
