Seek Wessel, Nichol & Gross Sostenuto Wires
By Dave Krall
I'm in the process of fitting a Telektra piano player system into
a 1901 A. B. Chase upright piano that has a real sostenuto action.
Unfortunately, twelve of the special bent wires that thread into the
bottom end of the damper levers are either broken off or badly bent at
the paddle (and they just break off when trying to straighten them).
While the Telektra system doesn't make use of the sostenuto, I would
like to replace them and have the sostenuto fully functioning in case
any world famous classical pianists come by. Might someone on the list
have a junk Wessel, Nichol & Gross upright piano action with these
sostenuto wires from which to supply the twelve I need?
Thanks,
Dave Krall
