Frank Adams' Automatic Music Roll Co.
By LynnLav@
Hi. Thank you for all the helpful info on your site! I'm trying to
find out when Automatic Music Roll Co. stopped making Duo-Art recuts.
The box for my latest such purchase, while vintage, has a zip code so
I know they were making rolls in or after 1963 when zip codes were
established.
I would love to learn the history of Duo-Art roll making as I think
they were originally Ampico. I just wonder why I have rolls that say
Duo-Art yet have other manufacturer names on them such as QRS and
Automatic Music Roll Co. Did these companies perhaps make rolls for
the company Duo-Art? I would love to have a timeline if such exists.
Thanks for any information you might be able to share.

[ "Automatic Music Roll Co." (AMR) was a brand name used by Frank
[ Adams of Seattle for his recut piano rolls. Many years before,
[ the brand name appeared on music rolls for Seeburg orchestrions.
[ After a brand name registration expires the brand name may be
[ used by someone else. -- Robbie
