"Million Dollar" Pianos & Donating to Museums

I have heard stories about collectors 'liberating' various relics from
alleged museums that were destroying or neglecting them. I am truly
conflicted about the morality of that. One person told me of a museum
that had one of the flags surrendered by Lee's army at Appomattox --
it was nothing but cloth confetti in the bottom of a display case.
