Steger Natural Player Action
By Jeff Davis

[ Ref. Luke Myers in 160114 MMDigest --

I occasionally see a player similar to yours. I restored one some
time ago in a Kurtzmann & Co. piano. The pneumatics were originally
covered in leather. I recovered them in my preference, nylon cloth
available from Schaff Piano Supply.

When I was done, I found the linkage between the pneumatics and the
piano action was out of balance. The piano action was lifted and the
pneumatics were pulled closed, I had to put in jack springs to
re-balance the linkage.

Jeff Davis - in Seattle, where there is snow in the mountains and rain
down here.
