Hi Folks, Well, in 160113 MMD are listed a couple more really special
music boxes in "For sale on the Internet..." [Email version MMDigest
only, not preserved in MMD Archive.]
First there is a wonderful Criterion music box that was built over ten
years before the disk music box was invented. It's a beautiful case
and stand but I'm not sure if it's $10-grand beautiful!
Second, there's one of those really special Regina music boxes that was
manufactured by the Polyphon company. Looks like it could use a bit of
restoration. While it's being restored, perhaps they can have someone
grind the word Polyphon off the bedplate. Not a bad price, though.
Regards,
Craig Smith
By the way, about the piano that was supposedly worth millions of
dollars, since it's an integral part of the estate, the only way to own
it would be to buy the entire Wrigley mansion. So, in a way, maybe it
really is worth a million bucks. On the other hand, since nobody can
actually buy just the piano, it's really not worth anything.
