Hi everyone,  I just wanted to thank all who have responded to my post,
either privately or on the MMD, about the pianos for sale in Hartford,
Connecticut [151213 MMDigest].  I'm glad that the Welte is probably
finding a good home.  I have a Welte upright on the way in January or
I would have tried to snap this one up after enjoying it for so long
on YouTube.

As I stated in my original post, I wasn't casting stones at the family
but I just found the situation sad.  His wife is probably getting along
in years also and maybe she really did enjoy the instruments for so
many years but it wasn't passed on to the younger generation and she
needs to take care of the estate.

In any case, it seems to have reminded all of us who "live" this
particular satisfying part of our lives enjoying our collections that
one day they will have to be passed on to somewhere as they have been
for the last 100 years or so.  None of us would have any of our
instruments if various people out there in 1952, when nobody cared
anything about this stuff, hadn't resisted the urge to just throw them
away.  I just don't want us to be the end of the line!
