Tanzbaer Player Accordion Rolls Available
By Brian Thornton

MMDers, Pipes of Pan now has rolls available for the 16-note Baby
Tanzbär player accordion. The type of tag board we are using is a
very good quality and works better than the original. The list is
small, so if anyone has some original rolls (whole or partial)
available to copy, please let me know.

I have hit a snag with the 28-note rolls. As you know, Ed Schmidt,
from whom I acquired the equipment, created the software to do his
re-cutting. He recorded the music rolls as MIDI files then converted
them to his punch files. He kept a few of the scanned rolls in MIDI
but most of them are in this punch format.

A software engineer friend helped me update these programs. We have
had no problem with the new program using these old punch files until
now. For some reason, when I try to load one of Ed's 28-note Tanzbär
punch files, the program crashes. I had the same problem with the
16-note files but all of those were in MIDI so I was still able to go
into production on those.

Right now we are working on resolving this issue or at least be able to
convert them back to MIDI so I can use them. The worst-case scenario
is that I'll have to round up original rolls to scan.   I hope not;
I think we will be able to work this out.
