Robbie and I consider the Mechanical Music Digest to be primarily
a discussion group.   I also believe that businesses that provide
products and services to our hobby need to be visible to the
consumers of their products.  This is mutually beneficial, as it
introduces new vendors and/or new products to consumers that may
want these items but didn't know that they were available, and in
doing so helps keeps those business going so they are there when
we need them.

However...   Many of our readers have let us know that they consider
frequent postings from well known vendors to be "noise".  So we are
trying an experiment.   We're going to consolidate vendor postings
in the first MMD of the month.  We hope that this will allow our vendors
an opportunity to stay in touch and to introduce new products
without annoying, too often, the MMD readers that aren't interested.

All but one of the postings below falls into this once-a-month category.
At our discretion we will continue to run one-of-a-kind ads for
individuals and/or businesses where delaying the announcement until
the first of the month would be a disservice to our readers.

Robbie and I invite you to continue to share your opinions on this
subject privately with us.

Finally, I want to point out that publication of the MMD is paid
for by the subscribers that choose to voluntarily contribute.  While
our regular vendors DO contribute to us, with only a couple of
exceptions, they pretty much contribute at the same level as everyone
else. So please don't decide to NOT contribute because "The advertisers
are paying enough that I don't need to."   Contributions from
advertisers is only a couple percent of our operating expenses!
