I would like to thank everyone that responded to my inquiry
concerning whistler repair. I received several leads but would
like to especially thank Moe Goldy for supporting me through my
"do it myself" endeavor. Moe listened to my Woodman, over the phone,
and identified a problem and talked me through a repair "if I was
bold enough".
I removed the back of the bellows and sure enough, as Moe predicted,
the hair spring on the reservoir valve was not doing its job. After
some realignment and gently bending the spring the valve now functions.
I put a new seal on the bellows back and it now works better than
previously. Since I have nothing to compare to I don't know if it
works as it should be I am making progress. Also, if anyone knows
the tune it is whistling please share. New video:
