Not to get political here, but "lawmakers" and "common sense" never
belong in the same sentence! What we _must_ do is be proactive where
legislation hasn't yet passed, and be reactive where it has and write,
call, email your regional lawmaker and express what was noted in that
last posting: banning piano ivory keys will not save any currently
existing elephants, walruses, or other ivory-bearing animals from
which the keytops were made.
Tell your friends to contact them too; I know the Piano Technicians
Guild is trying to keep us abreast of these laws and ones being
considered. We have succeeded in some states to get some logic written
into the legislation.
