Hi, I have recently acquired a 26-note street barrel reed organ
that is pinned with 8 tunes, 6 of which I have identified as popular
songs, all published in the year 1923. The identified tunes are
"Granny's Song at Twi-Light", "Just Like a Thief", "Sheba",
"Romany Rose", "I'll Stand beneath your Window tonight and Whistle",
and "Shores of Minnetonka".
The two other tunes sound to me like hymns or sacred songs. I would
be grateful if anyone is able identify the titles of these two tunes.
I have provided sound files.
I know of other examples of 26-note barrel reed organs that have two
hymn tunes as part of their 8-tune repertoire, so it seems this was
not uncommon practice. Any help much appreciated!
