Old Rolls Tearing On Rewind
By Walter Gerber

Ref. http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/Digests/201410/2014.10.05.07.html

I have fought this problem before on the Duo-Art and wrote about it,
see the above link.

You say it is attempting to adjust tracking during rewind? The vacuum
source for rewind should be connected to the same source as the stack
which is cutoff during rewind. The rewind system should end up in its
center most position with no vacuum supplied.

When all else fails, you can disable the control that applies full
vacuum to the wind motor during rewind. You can then control rewind
speed with the tempo control. This should be a last ditch effort as
you may not have enough power to rewind a very long roll.
