I'm seeking a photo, or schematic, of the physical stop/start part(s)
for an Edelweiss/Thorens Model No. 276 AD30 4-1/2" disc player of
circa 1920-1930 that I'm currently restoring.
This is apparently a fairly rare table top model, with a pull-out
drawer on the bottom left side and a winding crank handle coming out
of the right side as one would find on a Regina. (This is not a hand
cranked manivelle.) Unlike most other AD30's of that time, the main
spring is encased in a steel barrel housing and the case was stained
using a polished mahogany color.
The stop-start lever, protruding from the upper left side, is present.
However, the part(s) that connect it with the physical stop/start
lever, are missing. The part(s) in question would ride on the brass
main spring gear wheel and then touch the flywheel to stop the
mechanism, when it fell into one of the two holes on the mainspring.
Rather than trying to create this part, sight unseen, from scratch,
I'm hoping someone out there in music box cyberspace might have the
same model and could send me a photo of the missing part(s). I think
it will be a single piece of cut brass being attached to the motor
housing with a shouldered screw, and there is also likely to be a wire
tension spring.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
